I’m going to write about two products today from the same brand– one that I liked and another that didn’t impress me much. Let’s start with the first one.
Hyggee All-In-One Essence
The product I liked is the Hyggee All-In-One Essence It’s called “all-in-one” as it claims to have the ff. functions:
1. Powerful moisturizing
2. Brightening and wrinkle care
3. Exfoliating care
4. Nourishing and moisturizing (again?😂)
From the directions of use, I understand that this essence is supposed to take the place of my toner, essence, serum, and even my moisturizer.
After cleansing, I apply two pumps (equivalent to two layers) of this essence all over my dry face and one pump for my neck. What I notice right away is that I look like I’ve applied multiple layers of a hydrating toner on my skin! In other words, my skin looks plumped, brightened and smoothed. I also like how my BB cream applies well on top of it. It surely lives up to its claim of being an “all-in-one” product, so I give it two thumbs up for that 👍👍 Also, it is free from parabens, sulfates, and alcohol 😊💚
It is worth noting, though, that this gel-type essence is quite viscous, so make sure you don’t apply too much. I personally prefer applying two layers, though, because that’s when I see the great effects. I don’t see much difference when I apply only one layer. It also takes a while for it to be completely absorbed, so I have to do more tapping (or slapping) than usual 😂 And even after doing this, there’s still a bit of tackiness left. So I always have to follow it up with a separate moisturizer or BB cream, which easily solves the problem.
Will I Purchase?
If you have been following me for a while now, you’d know that I’m a big fan of long routines 😛 And this All-In-One Essence surely cuts my routine by several steps! Since it’s meant to replace all the steps from toner to moisturizer, I feel that applying my serums and a sheet mask on top of this essence would be a waste because they will not be absorbed well. So as much I as I am liking the results of this product, I don’t see myself purchasing it for myself in the future. I like being able to customize my routines according to my skin’s needs or my mood 😂 But if you are a short-routine gal or a minimalist when it comes to skincare, I think this product will be right up your alley 😊
This product retails for US$37 (1928 PHP) on Style Korean.
Hyggee All-In-One Tightening & Firming Mask
Obviously, this is the other product I was referring to, which didn’t impress me much. But let me start by first saying what I liked about it, because there are a few. I really enjoyed wearing this mask for 30 minutes because the material was thick but soft, and it was soaked in 45mL of water-gel type essence. I also liked how it perfectly adhered to my skin and stayed in place because of the double ear loops. It partially covered my neck, too, because it had a neck patch. I have always wanted for sheet masks to include the neck because they say you should treat your neck the way you would treat your face. There was a bit of tenting on the sides of my nose, but nothing that a few snips could not fix.
Now on to the results! I don’t know why the result of this mask for me was pretty mediocre. I mean, the ingredient list looks great, the material of the sheet mask was so nice, and there was more than enough essence inside, and yet the only difference I saw was a very slight brightening effect and possibly a very slight slimming/lifting effect, which may have been due to the literal lifting design of the sheet mask. But for a sheet mask that costs US$4 (200 PHP) each, I was expecting much more, like, you know, more plumped and radiant skin 💦 Well, it was supposed to be “tightening and firming”, so maybe it would yield more noticeable results for people with maturing skin. But for mine, it didn’t do much.
