If you’re looking for something that contains good ingredients and works really well but is also really affordable, you’re going to love this cleanser and moisturizer from local brand, Skin Correct.

💦Skin Correct M-Gentle Cleanse*

This is perhaps the most gentle cleanser I have ever tried, after Cetaphil. But unlike Cetaphil I find that this one has a slightly stronger cleansing power. It’s strong enough to remove my non-waterproof makeup but not too strong that it would feel stripping. In fact, it even left my skin moisturized. And I looove moisturizing cleansers! My current favorite cleanser is the Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser, but this M-Gentle Cleanse comes a close second! I’ve even been reaching out for this cleanser more often than my Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser. If you’ve been seeing my posts for quite a while now, you’d know that means a lot.

Because it has a consistency similar to oil cleansers, I’ve been using it for my first cleanse the way I would use an oil cleanser (i.e., massage it on my dry face and then rinse). And then I use it again for my second cleanse. This works for me since I normally do not wear waterproof makeup. I just don’t know how effective it would be on waterproof makeup. It’s like a 2-in-1 cleanser for me and I really like that. As much as possible, I want to use the mildest cleansers to keep my skin barrier strong and healthy. The good news is, this cleanser, according to the company, has a pH level of 5, which is excellent for the skin barrier! If you want to know why the skin barrier is such a big deal to me, please see the “Primer on Skin Barrier” in my post about the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Tencel Sheet Mask.

Ingredient-wise, this cleanser is free from fragrance, artificial color, parabens, and soap-based surfactants. I like that it’s fragrance-free because I recently learned that even if you’re not sensitive or allergic to fragrance, it’s still better to avoid them when you can, as it’s only a matter of time before you get sensitized to them. I actually like my skincare products scented so I’m not just suddenly going to give them all up. But if there’s a good product that’s fragrance-free, I’d consider that a plus.

Key Ingredients (In order of appearance on the ingredient list):
▪️ Sunflower Oil – an emollient (a substance that softens and moisturizes the skin to decrease itching and flaking).
▪️ Allantoin – skin-soothing and skin-conditioning agent.
▪️ Ceramides – holds skin together, prevents dehydration and irritation.

Considering these ingredients, it’s no wonder Skin Correct recommends this cleanser for those with aging skin, eczema, psoriasis, as well as irritated and sensitive skin.

Will I get a new one when it runs out? I think I will. As I said, this cleanser easily became my Top 2 cleanser. It’s super gentle but not weak, and it’s really affordable. It’s available on BeautyMNL for P300 per 125mL bottle.

💦M-Emollient Cream*

This is like the moisturizer version of the cleanser. Really, the effects are very similar, except that this one you do not rinse 😂 Just like the cleanser, this moisturizer also protects the skin barrier, soothes and softens the skin, and keeps it hydrated. Although it is lightweight, it doesn’t help with my oiliness that’s why I just use it at night as a soothing moisturizer. The product is intended for dry-skinned people, anyway, so that was to be expected. I just use it on my arms and legs when my skin is unusually dry, and I like how it instantly makes my skin so soft!

Key Ingredients (In order of appearance on the ingredient list):
▪️ Allantoin (see M-Cleanser above)
▪️ Almond Oil – an emollient, skin-replenishing, not known to cause sensitivity.
▪️ Squalene – moisturizing, source of replenishing fatty acids and antioxidants.
▪️ Ceramides (see M-Cleanser above)

Will I get a new one when it runs out? I would not buy it for myself because I have oily skin and I prefer an oil-controlling moisturizer at daytime. Meanwhile, I prefer something richer and more potent as a night moisturizer. However, I would recommend this moisturizer if you have dry and sensitive skin, and are looking for a gentle, soothing moisturizer that’s affordable.

Skin Correct M-Emollient Cream is available for P350 on BeautyMNL.
