What It Is
“A leave-on lip mask that soothes and moisturizes for smoother, more supple lips.” –Laneige.com
I have been using this Lip Sleeping Mask from Laneige for three months now and I have been quite satisfied with the way it works. It does moisturize my lips very well overnight, so I wake up to soft, smooth, and hydrated lips in the morning. Dead skin cells slough off as I wipe off the remaining product from my lips. I like how it makes my lips lipstick-ready and moisturized throughout the day. I also like its strawberry scent, which I find very pleasant and not overpowering.
A few months ago I also wrote a “Worth the hype?” review on the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, where I wrote that no, it was not worth all the rave it was getting. I hardly ever use it now, except when I remember and I don’t feel too lazy. But this Lip Sleeping Mask? I think it’s definitely worth the hype. It does what it claims to do AND does it much better than the other lip care products I have tried. And I gladly use it almost every night!
Just like the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, this Lip Sleeping Mask utilizes the Moisture Wrap™ Technology, which forms an 8-hour time-release moisturizing protective film over the lips to lock in active ingredients and mineral water.
The lip mask also has this Berry Mix Complex™, which soothes and softens the lips. It is rich in Vitamin C to gently exfoliate and remove dry flakes. It also contains lots of antioxidants from raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, goji berries and blueberries.
Another key ingredient in the mask is Shea butter, which is known for its unparalleled moisturizing property, as well as its ability to improve numerous skin conditions.
How To Use
It is super easy to apply. It comes with a tiny spatula with a rubber tip, which you can use to scoop out the product and/or apply it to your lips. I have stopped using the spatula because I find it easier to use my (clean) ring finger AND also because I’m just lazy like that. 😂 I also got rid of the additional lid inside because I really don’t get why they had to put that in there when the jar already has a screw-on lid.
Before going to bed, I apply a thick layer of the mask all over my lips, making sure that the corners of my mouth are also well-covered because I could get really dry in those areas. I just wipe off the remains with a tissue paper the following day. Sometimes I use this almost everyday in a week, but sometimes just every other day. It’s best used at bedtime because it’s sticky and works well when used in big amounts. But I also sometimes use it at daytime when I’m just staying at home.
