Is the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence the best sunscreen ever? Let’s see. It has a high SPF and PA level (SPF 50+ PA++++), so it protects very well from both UVB and UVA rays. It contains UV filters DHHB (to absorb UVA radiation) and Ethylhexyl Triazone (to absorb UVB radiation). It’s alcohol-free. It has a soft gel-type texture that’s effortless to apply and disappears into the skin. It leaves no white cast at all, so the claim that it is “invisible” is actually true. Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence feels very light, it’s almost weightless. It’s non-greasy upon application AND remains non-greasy. This is important to me because I have oily skin and most sunscreens I’ve tried before become greasy on my skin after a while. It works well with every moisturizer I’ve tried it with and also sits well under my cushion/foundation. It’s practically unscented; it has this very faint citrusy scent that dissipates almost immediately after application. It also contains skin-caring ingredients, like glycerin, niacinamide, adenosine, panthenol, beta-glucan, sodium hyaluronate, vitamin E, and allantoin. At US$23 for 80mL of product (this is a lot of product for a facial sunscreen), I think the price is reasonable.
So to answer the question above: Yes, Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence is, so far (and by far), the best sunscreen I’ve tried. I am very impressed and satisfied, and I see myself repurchasing it in the future. However, do note that it contains an essential oil (orange oil) at the end of the ingredient list. It would have been perfect without it. I guess no product can have it all😂 But good thing I don’t have sensitivity to essential oils, so it’s all good for me.
